The first espadrilles were created 6,200 years ago near the Spanish Mediterranean coast. Today, this ancestral footwear is still alive in our hands. At Toni Pons we have preserved its artisanal essence, evolving the design without losing what matters most: its soul.
This is how Toni Pons espadrilles are made
Handcrafted by master espadrille makers
The master espadrille makers are responsible for sewing our espadrilles. A craft passed down from generation to generation for centuries. This know-how makes every espadrille a unique piece.
— Ester, master espadrille maker for 27 years
Cutting and stitching
The pieces that form the espadrille are cut and sewn in the process known as stitching.
The hand-sewing
Using centuries-old techniques, the master espadrille makers hand-stitch the upper to the sole. This is the most artisanal part of the process and requires great precision.
The finishing
Each pair passes through the hands of our experts to remove imperfections and guarantee the Toni Pons standard. They are not just espadrilles. They are our way of seeing the world.
